Ipswich Prep School’s under-11 boys’ hockey team lifted the outdoor county title for the third time in four years, recently.

The team won all five of their matches at Ipswich School Sports Centre, to progress to the regional round of the competition.

Current Team GB squad members, siblings, Harry and Hannah Martin, both started their hockey careers at the Prep School and one of the names behind their success, Kevin Goldsmith, still coaches the under-11s.

Director of Sport, Bill Williams, said: “We’re hoping that his (Kevin Goldsmith’s) passion for the sport will see some more national hockey players come through the ranks.”

The Prep School’s U11 girls’ hockey team are also through to the regional competition, while three hockey teams from the Senior School at Ipswich School – the U13 boys, U14 boys and U16 boys – have also all made it through to the regional rounds of their respective tournaments.
