Ipswich hockey star Hannah Martin has been selected in a 22-strong squad for England’s forthcoming games against South Africa and Germany.

Head coach Danny Kerry’s team travel to Cape Town and Stellenbosch to take on South Africa and Germany.

England will play two test matches against South Africa on 25 and 26 February before facing Germany on 1, 3 and 4 March in three unofficial practice matches.

Martin, whose brother Harry plays for the men’s squad, is one of 11 players in line to make their debut and could line-up alongside seven of the group that travelled to Rio for the Olympic Games in the summer, winning gold with Great Britain, inlcuding Lily Owsley and Laura Unsworth.

“Our rate of development, both as individuals and as a squad will continue to accelerate as we progress toward our summer tournaments and in the medium term towards (the Women’s Hockey World Cup) London 2018,” said Kerry.
