IPSWICH School's Under-16 hockey side has won the East regional final of the RAF Careers Youth Hockey Cup.
A respectable 3-1 success over Harleston HC at Old Loughtonians' ground put Ipswich School into the national quarter and semi-finals at Tilsey Park, Abingdon, on March 24, with the final at Milton Keynes on May 12.
In the Under-18s regional final, Ipswich School lost 5-2 to Greshams.
First contested in 1981, the Cup is open to boys at U-14, U-16 and U-18 levels and has been sponsored by Royal Air Force Careers for the past five years. It is considered to be an important part of their overall careers strategy as not only does it encourage young people to participate in team games, it also aims to raise awareness of a large number and variety of careers on offer in the Royal Air Force.
