Bolton Wanderers remain interested in Ipswich Town striker Joe Garner ahead of tomorrow’s deadline for permanent transfers.

The window shuts at 5pm tomorrow, with clubs then able to complete loan deals until the end of August.

Bolton have been tracking Garner for much of the summer, with the Bolton News today reporting the Trotters retain that interest despite signing Josh Magennis from Charlton last week.

Millwall and Sheffield United are also known to have kept an eye on Garner, who joined the Blues last summer from Rangers for a fee of £750,000.

“We’ll look at that situation,” Ipswich manager Paul Hurst said of interest in Garner.

“As always, if we feel it’s the right thing to do we’ll look at it. If it’s not then Joe will stay with us.”

Bolton manager Phil Parkinson said: “We want another striker.

“Ken (Anderson, Bolton chairman) is working towards that and I’ve been in regular contact with him on that subject. He’s been progressing it alongside Simon Marland (club secretary) with a couple of other clubs.

With Martyn Waghorn departing for Derby, Ipswich are closing in on the signing of Accrington Stanley striker Kayden Jackson, while they have also shown an interest in Rangers forward Josh Windass.

Jonas Knudsen is another Ipswich player the subject of interest ahead of tomorrow’s deadline.

Middlesbrough, Aston Villa and Stoke have all been linked this summer, with Bristol City another possible destination once the Robins have completed the sale of Joe Bryan.

Both Villa and Boro have had bid accepted for Bryan, with both clubs said to view Knudsen as a potential alternative should they not land the Bristol City man.
