HOSTS Leicester City are confident that their Championship game against Ipswich Town will go ahead on Sunday.
Like the rest of the country, the city of Leicester has been in the icy grip of the big freeze in recent days.
However, the Walkers Stadium has under-soil heating, which means that the pitch should be in good playable condition - in fact, the Foxes first team were set to train on the pitch today.
The club have insisted that there is enough grit to treat the roads and paths around the stadium, and there is no standing water or ice in the stands, which means that concerns over spectator safety shouldn't be an issue.
City's Head of Operations, Kevin Barclay, said: βAt the moment, the stands are free of water and we have got grit ready to be deployed if necessary, and personnel available to carry out the work.β
