GRANT Leadbitter today said that a fear factor has to be overcome before Ipswich Town start moving up the Coca-Cola Championship table.

Leadbitter scored one of the goals in a 3-3 draw at Sheffield United on Tuesday when the Blues let a 3-1 lead slip to sink to the bottom of the table.

They travel to Barnsley tomorrow in readiness for Saturday's game, and recent 2.6million signing from Sunderland Leadbitter said: “We are making mistakes, and being punished for them.

“There is a fear of losing, and we must overcome this before we will start winning matches.

“We have got to cut these errors out - and do it now.

“There is pressure on everyone at the moment - staff, players, fans.

“It is up to the players to take this pressure off and improve life for our fans.

“They were brilliant again at Bramall Lane and it gives us a good feeling on the field.

“We must erase our fear, and build up a winning mentality in the dressing room.

“There is no doubt that we should have done better in the last 20 minutes against Sheffield United, and after being ahead by two goals a draw felt like a defeat.

“However pleased I was to score a goal I would much rather we had pocketed three points.

“This is what we need - to get a win under our belts and it has to be from now.

“There are positives to take into the Barnsley match and we must ensure that we benefit from that.”
