Sutton United have confirmed the loan signing of Ipswich Town striker Aaron Drinan.
The young Irishman played for Sutton as a trialist in their 1-0 victory over Norwich City U23s at the weekend, with the National League club confirming a loan move earlier this evening.
Drinan arrived at Portman Road in January in a deal which included a small transfer fee and a significant sell-on clause, and was quickly praised for his training performances by both former manager Mick McCarthy and captain Luke Chambers.
He is yet to make his senior debut for the Blues though, despite being on the bench on five occasions, and will instead take his first steps in English football in the National League.
Sutton, who reached the fifth round of last season’s FA Cup before losing to Arsenal, begin their season at Harrogate Town on Saturday.
