Ipswich Town have completed the loan signings of Reading striker Dominic Samuel and Cardiff City’s Welsh international midfielder Emyr Huws, until the end of the season.
Southwark-born forward Samuel, 22, scored seven goals in 25 appearances during a loan spell for League One side Gillingham, last season.
A product of the Reading academy, Samuel has also had spells on loan at Colchester United, Coventry City and Dagenham & Redbridge and has been a regular in the Royals’ under-23 team this season.
The 6ft 2ins striker has been capped at youth level by England, scoring twice in three games for the Three Lions’ under-19 team.
He will be ineligible for Saturday’s clash with his parent club, at Portman Road.
As for Huws, the Llanelli-born midfielder joined the Bluebirds in the summer but has made just one league start since moving from Wigan Athletic.
Huws has also enjoyed loan spells at Huddersfield, Birmingham and Northampton and has 10 caps for Wales.
Samuel and Huws became Mick McCarthy’s sixth and seventh additions of the January transfer window, after the signings of free agent defenders Jordan Spence and Steven Taylor, loan midfielder Toumani Diagouraga and winger Danny Rowe and striker Kieffer Moore from non-league Macclesfield and Forest Green respectively.
The January Transfer window closes on January 31 at 11pm.
