IPSWICH Town boss Roy Keane has given his first reaction to the failed attempt to have Jon Stead's three-match suspension rescinded, following the striker's harsh red card at Crystal Palace on Boxing Day.
The FA not only turned down Town's request, but also slapped an extra match for punishment, to make it a four-game ban.
“If that tackle deserved four games, then I'm glad I'm not playing anymore,” blasted Keane.
“It was only a yellow card, but that's what happens these days. Steady is as honest as the day is long, and I've seen the tackle over and over again.
“Now he's going to be out for the best part of a month. Just because we appealed, he's got an extra game.
“I'm obviously disappointed and angry, but it's best if I leave it at that,” added Keane.
