Keane, clean-shaven and dressed head to toe in Ipswich blue, will have to make decisions on 13 players who are out of contract this summer, including fan's favourite Alex Bruce, keeper Shane Supple and veteran Tommy Miller.

And, as he cast his eye over his squad for the first time, national and international media began to gather at Portman Road ahead of his official introduction to the press this afternoon at 4pm.

News that Keane had signed a two-year contract with the Blues sent a wave of excitement across the town today, and the story has enjoyed top billing across the national media.
