DAVID Nugent will NOT be joining Ipswich Town on loan from Portsmouth.
Blues boss Jim Magilton has tonight pulled the plug on the deal after Nugent said he was not yet recovered from an abductor injury and would not be available until next week at the earliest.
Magilton said: “We have waited long enough. We were going to give him until the end of this week but the player has been honest enough to say he won't be fit and so we move on.”
Magilton will now switch his attentions to other strikers, with Sheffield United's Danny Webber, who could be a possibility.
