We start today in 1973 when Town made history as they beat Spanish giants Real Madrid 1-0 in the UEFA Cup 1st Round, 1st Leg at Portman Road as Madrid defender Rubinan put the ball into his own net.
48 years ago today, Colin Viljoen scored a brace as Town beat Man United 4-0 in a Division One match at Portman Road, while in 1987 the Blues beat Swindon 3-2 at Portman Road, with the visitors finishing the game with 10 men.
2002 saw Town draw 1-1 with Serbian side FK Sartid at Portman Road in the first leg of the UEFA Cup 1st round, while the Blues won in Norway as they beat Skied Oslo 3-1 in the first leg of the UEFA Cup 1st round.
20 years ago today, David Johnson scored twice as the Blues beat Bristol City 3-1 at Portman Road, and also on this day in 2011, the Blues were on Sky as they beat Coventry City 3-0 at Portman Road in the Championship,
