IPSWICH Town have confirmed they wanted to sign Liam Rosenior from Reading on a permanent deal.
The 25-year-old defender has joined the Blues on loan until the end of the season and trained with his new team-mates yesterday.
The former Fulham defender and England Under-21 international is happy with the loan move for now with a year left on his contract at the Madejski Stadium.
“I enjoyed my time at Reading, but they have had to move players on and trim their wage bill and I have no problem with that,” said Rosenior.
“The two clubs are at different stages at the moment, although and when I was told that Ipswich wanted me, the move appealed straightaway.
“I know about the proud tradition of Ipswich and the history of the club and with the manager here, it's obviously a very exciting time.
“The manager has made it clear what his ambitions are for Ipswich and that means a place back in the Premier League.
“It's certainly my goal, to get back in the Premiership and I'm here to play my part in helping Ipswich have a good season.”
