IPSWICH Town last night completed the loan signing of keeper Asmir Begovic from Portsmouth.
Begovic, who has made four appearances in the Premier League for Pompey, made his international debut for Bosnia-Herzegovina as a substitute in their 2-0 win in Estonia last weekend, which secured his country's place in the World Cup qualifying play-offs.
The 22-year-old has been at Fratton Park for the last six years, having originally signed on a youth contract in 2003.
In recent times he has been an understudy to David James. He made his first two senior appearances against Sunderland and Wigan at the end of last season, when James was injured, and has also played against Arsenal and Manchester City this term.
The Yugoslav-born custodian has dual citizenship with Canada, where he moved with his family, and he actually played for the Canadian under-20s team alongside current Town left-back Jaime Peters.
