FORMER Ipswich Town star Colin Viljoen believes England can lift the World Cup next summer in his native South Africa.

Viljoen, who returned to Ipswich with a touring under-nine South African team, won two England caps during his Ipswich career after arriving at Portman Road as a 16-year-old.

Fabio Capello's side, who travel to play Ukraine in their penultimate qualifying match on Saturday, have already booked their World Cup place after eight straight wins in their group.

Viljoen, now 61, said: “It was such a delight and honour to be picked for England, and I would like to see them win the tournament next year.
