JON Walters today confirmed that he has no intention of leaving Portman Road despite reports of interest from Premier League clubs including Birmingham City.

The 24-year-old, who has fitted seamlessly into his new right-sided role, was looking for his fourth goal at Portman Road in six games against Wolves today.

Signed from Chester City during the transfer window last January, Walters made his intentions clear.

He said: “I am the happiest I have ever been in my career.

“There is no way I want to move away from Ipswich.

“I love the club and everything about it.

“Since I begun my career at Blackburn I have moved around - for one reason or another - too many times.

“Now is the time to find some stability, and I could not have found a better club.

“Ipswich are capable of going places and I want to be part of that.”

And talking about today's match against Wolves, Walters added: “We would all be proud to make it ten straight home wins. But the three points would be more important to see us move up the table.”

Walters' career saw him move from Blackburn to Bolton where he went on loan to Hull, Crewe and Barnsley. He then joined Hull full time for £50,000 before going on loan to Scunthorpe and then on a free to Wrexham and then Chester.

Tommy Miller and Richard Naylor have both been included in today's squad with the former injured last Saturday at Queens Park Rangers and the latter out since last February with a toe injury.
