IPSWICH Town are hoping that a Crazee mascot switch will help lead them to the winner's enclosure.

The Blues are seeking an energetic fan to put on the famous suit on match days at Portman Road.

Whether this stops the team having any more 'mares' remains to be seen!

It's certainly worth a try despite the current Crazee having done an excellent job over the years.

Appropriately on the day that Town are involved in their own 'Derby stakes' held over 90 minutes on good ground, the club are starting their hunt for a 'new' partner for stable mate Bluey.

The 'old' Crazee is being put out to grass and a well earned retirement, but unlike many-time winner Sea The Stars will not be going to stud!

Ipswich Town sales and marketing director Andrew Goulborn said: “Crazee, like Bluey, is very much part of our match day at Portman Road so we're looking for a fan to jump into the saddle as the 'new' Crazee and bring a bit of craziness to the occasion.”

There is bound to be a sprint to the finish in this one and those interested in becoming a big part of Town's home meetings should email crazee@itfc.co.uk outlining reasons why they should be first past the post for the role.
