Joe Rusby top scores for Ipswich in their defeat of Braintree
Ipswich defeated second-placed Braintree by 46 runs, in Division Two of the Two Counties Championship on Saturday.
Joe Rusby top-scored with 68, backed up by a swift 36 from fellow opener Rob Southall and 37 by Chris Bell in an innings of 220 for six. Barry Stephens took three for 64 off 15 overs. Braintree’s reply was built around an excellent 71 from opener Dean Bass, although the Essex side’s challenge was subsided from a promising 72 for two to 174 all out. There were four wickets for Jack Elford and three for John Howe.
