Woods finished equal second with the South African pair Rory Sabbatini and Retief Goosen two shots adrift to Johnson.
Britain's Justin Rose, who was one shot off the lead with two to play, had a double bogey on the 17th and finished on 292 with Jerry Kelly of the USA in equal fifth position.
