Yarmouth 0 Stowmarket 2

BOTH these sides entered last night's match having registered four clean sheets in their previous five matches.

So after an easily forgettable first period it came as no surprise that the score line had remained blank.

But the Suffolk side opened the second half in positive mood and took only five minutes to make the breakthrough.

Colin Yeomans turned in the six yard box and his shot was pushed away by Yarmouth keeper Banham but Roger Aldis was on hand to knock in the loose ball.

Stowmarket were now playing with a degree of confidence and only the feet of Banham denied Kevin Barker a second goal for the visitors.

But in the 75th minute Stowmarket got the second goal when a quickly taken free kick saw Roger Aldis touch the ball to Carl Ratcliffe and from his pin point cross Yeomans struck home is third goal in two games to give the visitors a lead which the Bloaters never threatened and Stowmarket's back line stood firm to such an extent that their keeper Simon Nunn did not have a serious save to make throughout the entire 90 minutes.
