Leiston won’t be under-estimating their lower-league opposition when Crowborough Athletic, from the Southern Counties East League Premier Division, visit Victory Road in the FA Cup Second Qualifying Round tomorrow.

The Blues came up short in similar circumstances last season when Westfield, of the Midland Premier Division, humbled Glenn Driver’s side, 2-1, in Herefordshire.

The Blues are unbeaten in the Bostik Premier this season, as they were last season, ahead of the clash with Westfields.

Therefore, Driver, knows tomorrow’s opposition can’t be underestimated.

“We know a bit about them, I have a friend who lives down that way and while I will not give too much away, I know they played 3-5-2, 4-5-1 and 4-4-2 in the same game,” said the Blues boss, who could be without right-back Kyle Hammond, who is an injury doubt.

“They have got one or two experienced players, one I think who played for Margate last season, but it’s about what we do on the day.

“We are at home, playing against a team two divisions below but no-one would have thought we would have lost to Westfields last season, so we won’t be underestimating them.”

Leiston will pick up £4,500 for progressing and Driver added: “The FA Cup is massive for any club at our level.

“The proze-money is £4,000 and if you get through the game and get a home draw in the next round, then all of a sudden you are only one game away from the Fourth Qualifying Round.

“Clubs have been able to build new stands in the past with such prize money, the competition is very important to us and we want to go through.”

Elsewhere in the FA Cup tomorrow, AFC Sudbury host Chipstead, from the Bostik League South Division.

The Yellows will be under the caretaker charge of Danny Laws, who replaced the departed Jamie Godbold in midweek.
