IPSWICH Wanderers are looking for a new manager after first-team boss Steve Buckle and his assistant, Paul Grainger, were relieved of their duties with the club second-bottom in Ridgeons League Division One.

The duo have paid the price for a poor start to the season, picking up just four points from their opening seven games of the season, and have been knocked out of all the major cup competitions following Friday’s 4-1 defeat in the Suffolk Senior Cup against local rivals Whitton United.

Buckle leaves the club after nearly four years as manager, while Grainger departs after two years as his assistant.

“It is with great sadness that Steve and Paul have been released from the club. We’d like to thank them for their efforts during their time at the Doucy, but we feel the time is right to make changes to try and help the club go forward,” said club chairman Terry Fenwick.

Reserve team managers Angelo Hodge and James Leach have been installed as temporary managers and will take charge when Wanderers host Cambridge University Press on Saturday.
