ROBIN Mann of Felixstowe Golf Range bounced back from a virtually no-hope position to claim a place in the final stage of the European Seniors' Tour School at Pinta on the Portuguese Algarve next week.

A nine over par round of 81 at Quinta de Cima on Thursday seemed to have ruined his chances. Yesterday he produced his best form for a two under par round of 70 enabling him to claim one of the final places at seven over par for the two rounds.

Three other East Region players will also be in the field at Pinta. Glyn Krause (Elton Furze), Mitch Kierstenson (Searles Leisure Resort at Hunsanton) and Gary Potter of the Links in Norfolk have also qualified.

Jamie Moul of Stoke by Nayland had a level par round of 71 in the second round of the PGA European Tour School at PGA Golf de Catalunya in Spain. Suffolk's former Walker Cup player started the day tied in 125th position at three over par. He dropped thee more shots on his front nine on the Red course but rallied with three birdies in his second nine at the 10th, 12th and 15th. He is now tied in 120th place with only the top 30 and ties winning their European Tour cards.

Brett Taylor of Chelmsford slipped back from tied 33rd to tied 43rd after letting two shots slip away in his final five holes. He is now level with England international Dale Whitnell from Five Lakes whose two under par round hoisted him from tied 82nd.
