FIT-AGAIN Ipswich ace Tommy Miller is dreaming of an end-of-season play-off double.

The 11-goal midfielder's first priority is to help earn his side a crucial win over Sheffield United tomorrow night.

Then he will turn his attention to his former club, Hartlepool and add his support to their very own play-off crunch clash the following day.

Miller, 25, is ready to return to action at Bramall Lane after missing the home defeat by Nottingham Forest last weekend with a hamstring injury.

Afterwards he will head for his native north east and on Saturday he will turn spectator at Hartlepool's vital home game against Second Division champions Plymouth Argyle.

Miller said: “I am desperate to play tomorrow night, because it is such an important game for us. It's the type that everyone wants to be involved in.

“The hamstring is a lot better and I think I'll be okay for tomorrow if required. I did a bit of jogging on Tuesday and joined in with the rest of the lads yesterday.

“There was still a bit of soreness, but that is to be expected. I hadn't trained for about 11 days and I was a bit worried at the weekend because it hadn't got any better.

“But there has been a fair bit of improvement since then and, fingers crossed, I will be okay.”

No one has to remind Miller of the importance of tomorrow's game. He said: “We simply can't afford to get beaten or Sheffield United will overtake us and with just one game left we'll really have our work cut out.

“But you won't see us going up there to try to hang on for a point. That's not Ipswich, is it? We're an attack-minded team, so we'll be going there to win and take all three points.”

Hartlepool's position is similar to that of Ipswich - they occupy a play-off position at the moment but can take nothing for granted.

Miller added: “I haven't been back home since August and I'd love to be there when they clinch their place. If they can beat Plymouth they're home and dry.

“But they could hardly be facing a more difficult game and their last one is at Swindon, who are right alongside them in the table.

“It's a bit like us, I suppose. So near and yet so far!”

If Miller has no reaction in training, either before the 18-strong squad departs today or in South Yorkshire tomorrow morning, he seems set to reclaim his place in the starting line-up.

Boss Joe Royle admitted: “We missed his thrust going forward. He's a great finisher and we missed that threat from midfield - none of our other midfielders carry that threat.

“Tomorrow night's game is one they must win and one we dare not lose. It's not quite life or death for us, but a draw will mean we will still be biting our nails for the final week of the season.”
