TWO long serving members of Stoke-by-Nayland drove-in to start their year as the new captains of the club.

Keith Prichard and Jane Dinwiddy are the new Stoke captains, and following their drive-in earlier this month 168 members played in a competition.

"It was a wonderful day, both on and off the course," said Keith, a 15 handicapper. Jane, who is also a member at Colchester, plays off 20 and both have been members at Stoke for the past 15 years.

Last year Keith was captain of the Stoke team that won the Suffolk Golf Union's Tolly Cobbold Cup, beating The Suffolk in the final at Bury St Edmunds.

Looking ahead to his year as captain, Keith said: "There are a couple of things on the course I want to address. I also hope for decent weather and for members to enjoy playing their golf and socialising in the clubhouse afterwards."
