SOCCER: It looks as though there will be no reprieve for teams finishing in the bottom two of the Jewson League Premier Division. Lowestoft Town expressed an interested in applying to join the Dr Martens League, but the expiry date has now passed and no clubs from the Jewson League have made an official application to move up next season.

Felixstowe and Walton United are one club who will not be heartened by this news. They are currently
second from bottom and lost 3-1 at bottom club Swaffham last weekend.
With their pitch 100 metres from their changing rooms the chances of Felixstowe's facilities allowing them back into the top flight if they do drop down to Division One is virtually nil.
Ipswich Wanderers and Stowmarket have been told by the league to share the costs of the match officials after their game at Greens Meadow in the autumn was brought to an abrupt end after 37 minutes when an assistant referee hurt his leg.
A replacement suitable to both sides could not be found and paying spectators were sent home short-changed. Neither club has been fined, and the match – that Stowmarket were leading 1-0 at the time – has been re-arranged for April.
"Stowmarket manager Mel Aldis was very helpful and we regard Stowmarket as our friends," said Wanderers
secretary Martin Head. "We received a fair hearing by the league and have no complaints."
Wanderers' gate went up by three last Saturday. Frustrated at only attracting 42 for a home league game against Ely, they had 45 for the visit of Diss Town.
