CALLING all Ipswich Town supporters - could you be the club's Fan of the Year?

The search is under way to find the number one fan, someone who follows their team through bad times as well as good, displaying devotion above and beyond the norm.

Young or old, male or female, the competition is open to all members of the Blue and White Army, with Evening Star readers invited to nominate contenders.

All you need to do is back up your choice with a brief commendation of no more than 150 words, outlining why your choice should be voted number one.

The Star and Ipswich Town Football Club are working together to find the top fan and nominations should be sent to Fan of the Year, Evening Star, 30 Lower Brook Street, Ipswich, IP4 1AN.

Don't forget to include full details - name, address and telephone number - of both yourself and the supporter you wish to nominate.

A judging panel, to include Ipswich manager Jim Magilton and the club's director of communications, Terry Baxter, along with Evening Star editor Nigel Pickover, will make the final decision.

The winner will rub shoulders with his or her favourite stars at the players' annual Awards Night, which will take place tomorrow week at Trinity Park, the former Suffolk Showground, when the Fan of the Year award will be presented.

Don't delay - drop us a line by 5pm on Wednesday with the name of the supporter you wish to nominate for this extra-special accolade.
