Orwell 0 Pelicans 1
ORWELL'S Printwize East Super League campaign finished with a defeat in a rearranged game against Pelicans at Henley Road.
Despite only having ten players, Orwell deserved to get something from the game. Goalkeeper Kate Adams was in fine form, Michele Guest had a superb game at sweeper and Louise Fletcher made some outstanding runs from right defence to support the Orwell attacks.
The only goal of the game came midway though the second half via a penalty corner. Although the initial shot was saved, Orwell failed to clear the ball and an oncoming Pelicans forward slipped the ball past the Orwell keeper.
Orwell continued to press forward and although they were awarded several penalty corners, they were unable to equalise.
