The hard-up Owls will pocket £150,000 if the Finland striker's goals help propel Town into the Premiership.
The fallen Yorkshire giants were already £500,000 better off for allowing him to depart in November 2003 after he had been on loan at Portman Road for two months. That was the amount they owed Kuqi in wages and signing-on fees.
Ipswich signed him on a free transfer, taking over the contract he was on at Hillsborough, and promised the handsome bonus in the event of them going up.
