METALTEC SIL club BT Hollies have been saved from possible closure. With the future of the Hollies sports ground in Bucklesham still up in the air, BT have managed to find a new pitch.
Their first and second teams will now be based at the well-appointed Trimley Sports and Social club.
BT Hollies official Barry Vernau said: "We are now secure. We did not have any long-term security at the Hollies. The Trimley complex is fit for senior football, which is our aim.
"We are still looking for players to complete our squads and also a manager for our first and third teams."
Vernau is to hold the managerial reins for the first team until a successor is found. "There must be lads in the Felixstowe, Trimley and Walton area who are looking for a Saturday game," added Vernau.
"We will be called BT Hollies this season but may well change our name for the 2002/03 campaign."
Vernau can be contacted on Ipswich 240285.
