Police have examined potential clashes between football fans from every one of the 32 nations taking part in the South Africa World Cup.

Metropolitan Police analysts have scoured the tournament schedule for potential flashpoints among ex-pat supporters in London.

Senior officers said every nation is represented in the capital and have asked local colleagues to draw up a list of potential trouble spots.

Police will particularly focus on England’s games, which begin with a match against the United States on June 12.

Officers across the country have already begun working to ensure known hooligans are prevented from travelling to the tournament.
