PUPILS of Thurleston High School in Ipswich have been given a sneak preview of the Sports Performance Academy roadshow which will be visiting many other schools in the area in the near future.

The aim of the roadshow, which is sponsored by the Evening Star, is to find the best all-round sports boy or girl in Suffolk through their Champions of the Future fitness competition.

The SPS linked up with Thurleston as part of their fitness and health evening to provide expert advice,

workshops and demonstrations for the students.

These were provided by the Fitness First Health Club, Bootie Dance Hip Hop Academy and Milo Hodge, the England karate international from the Caribbean Club.

The Fitness First team carried out demonstrations of Tae Bo fitness class which incorporates moves from boxing, karate and kick boxing. This form of exercise is becoming popular

worldwide and is replacing many other forms of fitness regime which people find boring or repetitive.

Milo was a special guest for the evening, carrying out demon-

strations to music using kicks, punches and blocks.

The hip hop girls, who will also be visiting schools in the area, carried out dynamic routines to a CD especially prepared by the Gemini recording studio in Ipswich.
