Hockey players at Ipswich School are celebrating after four teams won county indoor hockey championships recently.

The U18 boys and girls and the U16 boys and girls all won the Suffolk round of this year’s national schools championships, and are now through to the regional finals.

Stu Field, Head of Hockey at Ipswich School, said: “I am obviously delighted with the success of all four teams. They put a lot of effort into the preparation, performed really well on the day and deserved to go through.”

The U18 girls beat Framlingham College in a tense match, with a 5-3 final score, while the U16 girls beat Ipswich High School 9-2 to win their county title.

The U18 boys, meanwhile, found themselves in a triangular final against Royal Hospital School and Woodbridge, and overcame both teams 17-0 and 7-5 to top the table.

Finally, the U16 boys faced Woodbridge in their county round, and won 11-2, topping off an excellent indoor hockey campaign and making it four out of four for Ipswich School.
