Walsham-le-Willows 6 Stanton 0

THIS local derby kicked off in severe weather conditions with a snowstorm taking place over the ground.

It did not put Walsham off their stride, however, and within minutes of the start had taken an early lead.

Matt Hazelton needlessly fouled Miles on the edge of the box and Paul Musgrove gained the perfect revenge when his superb left footed free kick found the top left hand corner of the net with Andy Musgrove stranded.

Walsham continued to press forward and Matt Musgrove increased the Walsham lead with a superb right foot shot from 20 yards out. Minutes later Walsham scored again when Stanton failed to clear a corner and Paul Musgrove nipped in to score his second and Walsham's third.

Stanton began to settle into the game at last when they suffered yet another set back when Dean Shave was sent off for his second bad tackle of the game.

In the second half Walsham increased their lead against ten men when Zarkos was left unmarked to head home. Within 20 minutes Zarkos had completed his hat-trick with a left foot and right foot finish respectively.

On this form Walsham looked worthy league leaders while Stanton look set for a fight at the other end of the table.

Ransomes 4 East Bergholt 3

THIS was a tremendous result for relegation-threatened Ransomes who came back from a 2-0 deficit in the first half hour.

Bergholt started brightly and deservedly went ahead by a somewhat fortunate goal when Howell's inswinging corner just evaded Gedny's head and keeper Charters at the near post and curled into the far corner in the 20th minute.

Vernau picked up a bad clearance to put them further ahead from the edge of the penalty area in the 28th minute and it looked all over for the home side.

But they came back after Markwell hit the bar and Turnbull gave them a fighting chance when he pulled a goal back in the 37th minute before the snow fell thick and heavy in the five minutes before the break.

Ransomes officials cleared the lines and the players' enthusiasm matched theirs with Bergholt keeper Andrews defying Wilcox with a point blank save just after the re-start.

Ransomes first drew level through Lowe in the 64th minute and went ahead from another well struck goal by Wilcox a minute later. Turnbull who seemed to have a hand in everything slammed in a fourth goal in the 70th minute.

The home side's joy was short lived when lack of concentration immediately after let in Gedny to set up a tense last 20 minutes but Ransomes were worthy winners in the freezing conditions
