Ipswich-born duo Lewis Ludlam and Will Owen both started as England defeated Wales 30-16 in their second pool game at the Rugby World Under-20 Championship in Italy.

Max Clark and Howard Packman, along with a penalty and conversion from Rory Jennings gave England, who defeated Japan in their first game, a 15-0 lead.

Stuart Townsend’s converted try made it 22-0 before Wales brought the half-time score back to 25-10.

Wales reduced the deficit to nine, before Sam Skinner scored for the Red Rose, who face France, in their final pool game, on Wednesday.
