GEORGES Santos today insisted he wanted to see out his contract at Portman Road.

Santos, 33, is signed to Ipswich Town for another season but Blues manager Joe Royle has said he could leave the club on a free transfer.

QPR, Burnley and Stoke have expressed an interest in Santos with Rangers boss Ian Holloway saying he would love to sign him.

Santos said: “I am in the shop window at the moment so we will see what happens, but I am looking forward to getting a first team place at Ipswich.

“I think I have still got a future at Portman Road but Joe Royle said to me that he has got so many centre backs.

“I want to stay in Ipswich and I would like to finish my contract. I have never left a club before I have finished my contract.

“If I have to leave then we will have to see the offers, but football is very funny. One day you are in and the next you are out again.

“If something happens with QPR, Burnley or Stoke then we will see but, at the moment, we are just waiting.”

“My agent is talking to QPR but I have one year left with Ipswich so I am concentrated on that.”

Santos, who can operate in central defence or midfield, played last night in Ipswich Reserves' 2-1 defeat at Barnet.

However, he only lasted eight minutes as he suffered a suspected broken nose following a clash of heads with Barnet's Dwane Lee.

Santos said: “I think it was just an accident. I just tried to flick the ball and their guy followed my team-mate and we just had an accident. It was a shock but it is something that happens in football.

“It is very frustrating because I was looking forward to playing and it would have been my first full game.”

Santos will have an X-ray on his injury today to see if he has broken his nose and, if he has, could be out of action for up to two weeks.

Shefki Kuqi put Ipswich in front in the eighth minute before goals from Giuliano Grazioli and Liam Hatch gave Barnet a 2-1 victory.
