IPSWICH Evening Star Witches rider Rory Schlein finished runner-up in last night's Elite League Riders' Championship.Schlein scored ten points in qualifying - two first places, one second and two thirds - at Birmingham's Perry Barr Stadium to reach the final, where he finished second behind Belle Vue's Jason Crump.

Piotr Swiderski, who was the Witches' other representative, scored five points and failed to qualify for the semi-final stage.
