IPSWICH Town chairman David Sheepshanks has been talking exclusively to the Evening Star about the club's future.

And on the back of three straight wins and a draw at high-flying Stoke City, a place in the last 16 of the FA Cup and the purchase of four players during the transfer window he paints an optimistic picture for the future well-being of the club.

In his interview Sheepshanks reveals:

That work is going on behind the scenes nationally to deal with the ever increasing gap that currently exists between the Premiership and the Football League.

That Ipswich Town will still have what it takes to gain promotion despite the increase in parachute payments from the end of this season

His hopes of further improvement to Ipswich Town finances by the summer.

That the chairman is actively seeking investment and that he would have happily followed the path taken by Derby County to solve their cash problems.

That personal considerations are no obstacle to attracting new investment.
