GOLF: A TOTAL of £267 was raised from a charity golf day at St Clement's recently, with the proceeds going to Ipswich Hospice.
A TOTAL of £267 was raised from a charity golf day at St Clement's recently, with the proceeds going to Ipswich Hospice.
The golf day involved members from the veterans and ladies section who were playing for the Molly Moore Memorial Trophy.
Molly died last year in the Ipswich Hospice, and her widower George, a St Clement's member, decided to put up a trophy in her memory that will now be played for on an annual basis.
The format was teams of three – two men and a lady – with all Stableford scores counting. The winning team was Margaret Carey, Arthur Smith and Rex Harper with 103 points.
Vic Phillips won the prize for the man nearest the pin at the par three ninth and Daphne Ferrier was the closest lady.
The breakdown on the money raised was £150 from the meal and wine and £117 from the raffle.
