Katherine Rednall’s rich vein of form continues.

The 18-year-old World Indoor champion from Stowmarket High School lifted the British Isles Under-25 Ladies Championship, at Stanley Indoor Bowls Club, on Wednesday.

That came just days after Rednall made her debut for England’s senior team as they retained the Clara Johns International Series at the same venue, defeating Ireland, Wales and Scotland.

In her individual event, Rednall who should now qualify for the World Under-25 Indoor Bowls Championships later this year, dropped just nine points as she proved too strong for the Channel Island’s Chloe Greechan (21-4) in the semi-finals and Ireland’s Chloe Watson (21-5) in the final.

Rednall’s dad John, a current England men’s international said: “Katherine has excelled this year, winning the world indoors title at Potters, the national under-25s championship and now the British Isles under-25s event.

“The great thing is she has held her form and the purple patch has continued.

“Her all-round game has been so good and she has been getting her lead bowl with a foot to 18 inches of the jack.”

He added: “I would say she is the form player nationally at the moment.

“We know it’s about how you perform on the day in bowls and you only need to be five per cent below your normal standard and your opponent be five per cent above theirs to have a bad result.

All rinks are slightly different but Katherine has maintained her form.”
