PIPERS Vale Gymnastics Club hosted a spectacular international on Saturday where the Great Britain team produced some stunning displays to come out on top against Denmark.

The GB squad featured several strong performances, with Ryan Bradley coming out on top individually with 86.550 points, closely followed by Basildon's Danny Lawrence in second place who secured 84.950 points.

The event was part of an ongoing warm-up to the forth-coming world championships in Denmark.

Andy Wood, Pipers Vale head coach, said: “It was probably the best competition I've ever run.

“We've been complimented on how good the facilities we've got here are and the Danish team have approached me about running an international training camp here next year.

“It was not only a great event for the club, but also for Ipswich as a town.”

Pipers Vale will be host to the National Veterans event on September 23.

Eddie van Hoof, technical director of men's artistic gymnastics, said: “I am very pleased with the way the GB team have performed.

“Clearly one or two gymnasts are coming back to full fitness and form and I would expect to see further improvements in our next world championships warm- up event in Hungary.”
