AFC SUDBURY stretched their unbeaten run to 14 matches last night by beating Fakenham Town. They join Wroxham at the top of the Jewson League Premier Division table, behind on goal difference but with games in hand.

They faced a searching opening 10 minutes, with Reeve's header being blocked and then two shots being charged down.

Then Sudbury went ahead on 40 minutes. Owen chipped the ball over the defence for Rayner to lay the ball back to Bennett. His shot was deflected to Betson, who forced the ball home from close range.

Two goals in the space of two minutes at the start of the second-half put AFC Sudbury firmly in control.

First Owen played the ball on to Bennett, who ran on, side-stepped keeper Lewis and shot into an empty net.

Then, on the other wing, Betson gave Norfolk the chance to cross low into the six-yard box where Claydon was on hand to score.

Fakenham came back and White headed home the rebound after Nower parried Gilmore's shot.

But five minutes from time substitute Banya was on hand to move onto Rayner's inch-perfect square pass and easily beat Lewis for his team's fourth goal of the night.
