SUFFOLK men came up against classy opposition when they lost to Kent in a friendly county golf match at Wrotham Heath on Saturday by eleven-and-a-half matches to three-and-a-half.

SUFFOLK men came up against classy opposition when they lost to Kent in a friendly county golf match at Wrotham Heath on Saturday by eleven-and-a-half matches to three-and-a-half.
Kent had two players with a plus three handicap. Matt Haines had just won the Peter McEvoy Trophy last week.
Suffolk lost all five foursomes but collected three-and- a-half points from the singles, with notable wins for Michael Swan, Alex Holmes and Owen Pearl and a half from Rhodri Harston.
James Reiss went down 2 and 1 to Kent champion Mick Bush. which was a creditable performance.

(Kent names first): Foursomes: Matt Haines and Lloyd Campbell beat Jamie Abbott and Liam Brace 4 and 3.
Jason Barnes and Ricky Neil-Jones beat Michael Swan and Bradley Wilkins 4 and 3.
Danny Curtis and Ken Will beat Will Wright and James Reiss 4 and 2.
David Turner and Michael Bush beat Chris Smith and Alex Holmes 2 and 1.
Danny Dalton and Lloyd Godwin beat Owen Pearl and Rhodri Harston two up.
Singles: Barnes beat Abbott 5 and 4, Haines beat L Brace 3 and 2, Campbell beat Wilkins 3 and 2, Will lost to Swan 2 and 1, Neil-Jones beat Wright 4 and 2, Bush beat Reiss 2 and 1, Godwin beat Smith 3 and 2, Turner lost to Holmes 4 and 3, Dalton lost to Pearl two down, Curtis halved with Harston.
