GYMNASTICS
The Eastern Region Club grade finals were held at the Ipswich Gymnastics Centre.
This competition is the first competition these gymnasts enter at regional level.
Over 100 gymnasts took part during the day and over 250 spectators were there from all over the region to watch the competitors.
In club grade six, Jasmine Clarke and Charlotte Shelley were Piper's Vale club
representatives. They won through from the county finals finishing first and third and were hoping to repeat their success from that competition.
Clarke competed brilliantly and for an eight year old showed good control and confidence in her performance. She held it all together going clean on every piece of equipment to give her the regional title of club grade six champion.
Team-mate Charlotte made a mistake on the beam but still managed fifth position.
In club grade five, Amber Hale was Piper's Vale's only competitor and she finished in a creditable fifth position.
