ONE of the most respected clubs in the Ipswich area are all set for their 16th overseas tour.

Taverners, who are celebrating their 35th year, will be taking part in the Royal Brussels British FC tournament – with a party of 18 making the trip across the North Sea.

The reunion, and presentation evening, is taking place at the Novotel, Ipswich, on May 11 and the club would like to hear from as many former players and officials as possible.

Taverners spent five years from 1967 playing in the Gippeswyk Sunday League before transferring to the Ipswich Sunday League.

They have run two sides since 1977 and are currently involved in Divisions Two and Five. They play home games at Greshams (formerly AXA) Sports Club in Tuddenham Road.

To be involved in the reunion please contact club stalwarts Pat Elvin on 01473 748206 or Bob Bullamore on 01473 729586.
