HOCKEY: Teenage goalkeeper Marc Lloyd could be celebrating a rare Ipswich East Suffolk victory tomorrow. The 15-year-old Copleston pupil, who made his debut in the 3-0 defeat by Cambridge City, keeps his place in the side as the Rushmere-based team travel to take on bottom side Long Sutton.

TEENAGE goalkeeper Marc Lloyd could be celebrating a rare Ipswich East Suffolk victory tomorrow.

The 15-year-old Copleston pupil, who made his debut in the 3-0 defeat by Cambridge City, keeps his place in the side as the Rushmere-based team travel to take on bottom side Long Sutton.

Lloyd, who keeps his place as captain Charlie Farrow is unavailable, said: "Although we lost, I enjoyed the Cambridge game and I'm looking forward to playing against Long Sutton.

"It's a big game for the side and it's one we have to win. I just hope I can play my part and that we come away with three points."

Lloyd could not be faulted for any of the goals IES conceded last week and brought off a superb reaction save towards the end.

Defenders Stuart Gooderham and James Bouttell are both unavailable tomorrow, so Nick Horne and Peter Blake come back into the squad. It's a game of massive importance and one which IES must win if they are to stand any chance of retaining their status in Premier Division A of the Printwize East League.

Andy Keedle and Rob Boulter join the second team tomorrow against Bourne seconds and the side will be looking to carry on where they left off after a 2-0 win over Cambridge City seconds.

Boulter was twice on target along with Alex Borwick for the thirds in their 3-1 success over Sudbury seconds, while teenage goalkeeper Mark Burrows was outstanding for IES, who tomorrow play second from bottom Wivenhoe.

Duncan Harris and Neil Slade, with a late effort, gained the fourths a 2-1 win over Sudbury thirds and tomorrow should easily account for rock bottom Braintree thirds.

The fifths also recorded a win when Gary Wardman-Browne and 14-year-old Lee Percival scored the goals in a 2-0 success over Waltham Forest thirds, but have a much tougher task in hand against leaders Chelmsford sixths.

First team defender Kevyn Brown guested for the sixth team in friendly against Colchester Veterans and scored a hat-trick in a 5-0 win, with Barrie Whelpton and Andrew Horton adding the others.

Tomorrow the sixths get back to league action when they meet Braintree fourths, a side they beat 2-1 earlier in the season.
