ACHILLES are holding their seventh vice presidents' dinner in May, and tickets are now available.
Every two years the club stages a reunion dinner, which is male only, and it was decided to fill in the gap with an event that long-suffering spouses and partners can attend.
Club chairman Dave Morgan said: “These have proved just as popular and invitations have now been circulated for the vice presidents' dinner at Pauls Sports Club on Friday, May at 7.30pm.”
Tickets cost £20 and can be obtained from club president David Routh at 62 High Street, Ipswich, telephone 255680.
Morgan may have to pay for his dinner this year after revealing: “David's speech at the vice-presidents' event is always humorous and well received. It is the highlight of the night.
“But it does go on.
“Indeed, a book is now run with bets on the length of his presentation - the most recent winner being myself and I was able to pay for my evening with the winnings.”
