TIPTREE United were tonight celebrating the greatest day in the club's history after Neil Farlie's side had booked their place in the FA Carlsberg Vase Final at Villa Park on May 11.
Going into this afternoon's second leg of the semi-final at Chapel Road with a two goal advantage, Tiptree displayed all their fighting qualities to make sure that they preserved their lead.
AFC Sudbury needed a goal, preferably in the first half, to put this tie back into the melting pot, but it was not forthcoming and in fact the home side should have put the outcome beyond doubt some time before the end.
There were chances to both teams, especially in the last 20 minutes, but Tiptree held firm and over the two legs deservedly booked their place in the Final.
There were understandable scenes of jubilation at the end among the Tiptree players and their supporters who can now look forward to a great day out to the Midlands in May.
