IN TONIGHT'S GREEN 'UN…

IPSWICH TOWN 3, NOTTINGHAM FOREST 4

IPSWICH Town missed a great chance to improve their hopes of returning to the Premiership thanks to some abject defending at Portman Road today.

If any team is serious about promotion they cannot concede four goals in a home match.

This was after Tommy Miller had given the Blues a two-goal start with his second coming from a retaken penalty.

Forest then took advantage of some gifts at the back by Ipswich to score three times in six minutes to take the lead.

Marcus Bent equalised in this contest which was full of interest on the hour, only for Marlon Harewood to head a winner with 15 minutes remaining.

With Wolves drawing and Reading losing the previous night, Ipswich could have made up ground on both as well as on Forest.

Norwich City also lost and there was a feeling of anti-climax and frustration when the Town players left the field at the finish.
