FORMER Ipswich driving instructor Trevor James has long since discarded his footballing L plates.

And today he reveals how he has motored up from coaching in Ipswich parks to working with the biggest icon in world football.

James is now assistant coach at LA Galaxy and will be working with superstar David Beckham when the former England captain completes his reported £128million move to California in the summer.

James still keeps in touch with many of his friends in Ipswich with Town's assistant kit man and former academy coach, Ken Goody, one of his recent visitors.
